The Leopard Delay
I have just read about 100 different sites on people yapping about Apple pushing off the release date for their new OS for some months, I truely don’t mind too much, it would just be another OS I would have to buy bringing the total up around the $600 mark in OS and this is not to mention iLife upgrades. OS X is a great OS just very expensive to keep up to date on; its funny that when Vista (Microsofts new OS) was delayed the Apple Fanboys of the world were talking smack the whole time, Apple itself put out one of those stupid ass TV ads ripping on MS for the delay. I doubt you will see MS launch an add campaign about Apple being 4 months late on their OS.
Reading all the crap posted on sites like http://www.digg.com and others that are justifying the date being moved like it was intentional all along is funny, somehow Apple moving the date back has become a “feature” to add to the “experience”…lol.. It reminds me of a Fanboy I know saying Apple invented the Pentium Processor when they switched over to Intel from the powerPC.
I think its great that Apple keeps pushing forward and can somehow get their small group of users to keep buying now OS’s all the time, I think the current version I run (10.4.9) is the first OS X I have run that I consider “Done” the others were almost Beta’s,they all worked good but in my eye were not finished. I feel from my little time with Vista that its not done either, I will be holding off for a while for it to become more finished (most likely Service pak1) so I give Apple kudos for delaying it if its not done, and I’d hope that the Fanboys see this as the reason, its not a “feature”…
