Convert Video to Tivo - VisualHub

Convert Video to Tivo - VisualHub

I watch the videocasts on Tivo like CrankyGeeks and CNet, but there are a few like Diggnation and CommandN that I have wanted to watch on my bigscreen TV not my laptop, so converting the downloaded video to the correct format has always been a pain until I was introduced to VisualHub ( http://www.techspansion.com/visualhub/ ) it pretty much takes any format video and converts it to any format, there are profiles for everything from VCD to a special one for Tivo.

Joost - No Power PC

Joost - No Power PC

I was sitting home one night thinking how nice it is that iTunes has streaming audio, I like to have sound as I'm sitting at my desk while working, but NPR goes just so far.

Web Development Tips

With all the new Web Development I have been doing lately I have learned some great new tips, I moved my websites from my own Linux servers over to Bluehost (see add to the left) and it has worked out great, all my websites on one server for one price, all the email accounts.. everything in one package.

LogMeIn now available for Apple

LogMeIn now available for Apple

After being a longtime user of Log Me In for my Windows computers I have been bitching that its not available for Apples OS X, well no longer... its available in Beta for free for Apple users, yes you heard me right log me in is available for OSX. This will allow Apple users to log into their machines from anywhere and use the machine as if they were sitting in fromt of it, a free remote desktop software that will blast through your home or work firewall and works with pretty much any internet connection; either Static or Dynamic IP adress is no trouble for log me in.

Apple Missing Log Me In

After an amazing amount of comments and questions on my logmein article I decided to re-visit this great remote desktop software available from www.logmein.com . I use the Free version on two machines at home but I'm thinking of stepping up to Logmein Pro for a bunch of added features such as File Transfer between PC's along with the ability to remote print, sure would be handy to log into my PC at home and print documents at work without much effort, this to me is a serious contender for one of the coolest softwares I have played with, even LogMeIn Free version is soooo handy.

Firewire SDK - Tivo Killer

As everyone knows I am somewhat of a Tivo freak, its one of my favorite electronic toys there is; I own two Tivo’s along with a couple computers running Tivo server software so I can store shows for later use.

Mac Tivo to Go

Finnally Tivo has come up with Tivo to Go for the mac (really Roxio..), this has been one of my biggest stumbling points with Apple OS X, its a great OS but too many softwares I use frequently are not available on it. take a look at the link below for more details (thanks tO Zatsnotfunny)…

TiVo Decode Manager

Last night I had that mac dude over at my house ( http://www.thatmacdude.com ) after a couple drinks we started talking about the Tivo DRM being cracked last week and that someone will write a GUI for it (Its all command line now) we he grabbed my laptop and with a few keystrokes downloaded and installed “TiVo Decode Manager” threw my Media Access Key into it, was then able to browse both of my Tivos and with one click of the mouse it was downloading and converting it to an mpg2 file, a 30 minute show in about 30 minutes… fricken sweet…

FTP Client for Mac

In my everyday job I transfer tons of data through FTP, on my Windows machines I normally just used a command prompt.
