I read an article on http://gizmodo.com about someone uncrating a new Microsoft Surface Table, I had written about this on www.geekjoust.com about a year ago, so now I see it coming to life, but reading some of the comments makes me sick, why is it that Apple FanBoys have to compair this to a giant iPone, the iPhone is a touch screen, it only knows something is touching the screen and where, the Microsoft Surface uses a whole different technology so it can see what is touching the table, I'm not saying its better or worse technology but it is totally different and way more capable than a simpl

Firewire SDK - Tivo Killer

As everyone knows I am somewhat of a Tivo freak, its one of my favorite electronic toys there is; I own two Tivo’s along with a couple computers running Tivo server software so I can store shows for later use.

So I finally belly’d up to the bar and bought a 32″ LCD to hang on my bedroom wall, all I can say is Wow… this thing is great, I had it sitting on the floor for a few days waiting for the mounting bracket to hang it; so I had a Windows Media Center PC that I have using the VGA input, also had my powerbook 17″ hooked up using the HDMI input (using a DVI to HDMI adapter) sure works

So once again stuck with a strange problem, in my home I have a rather extensive network both wired and wireless, the system has (2) 24 port switches, backup battery, wireless, Vonage phone system, along with a Skype adapter that rings line 2 throughout the house, miles of CAT5 lots of Cable for TV and video, lets just say I may have went over the top when I did it… I have a couple Tivo Series 2

I end up the go-to guy for most people I know and people they know for computer setup questions. I recently went to someone’s house to setup their wireless router, I have setup a fair number of them over the years, so this time I grab my PowerBook and head out.
